This PIR-based remote control switches a camera controller between two states:
a) Standby, where the camera controller will last for several months before the battery becomes exhausted
b) On, where the camera is switched on and is transmitting video and audio
The internal battery has a long life and is user changeable. The camera may be controlled from up to 5-10 metres away using an open public frequency band. Software prevents electrical noise from accidentally switching on the camera.
The PIR trigger, which is 60x40x15mm, may be attached in seconds to a wall or any other surface using double sided sticky pads. The PIR has a lens and has been selected to detect a human being up to 10m away.
